ROUND TWO WITH THE BC GOV'T
Updated: Nov 5
So it would appear getting the right paper work when you're trying to get birth records and you're adopted is more complicated than I thought.
I'm trying to obtain my live birth registration. Originally I was handed Genealogy paper work at our local gov't office, which I went home and completed, then I returned the next day. I had a different kiosk with a separate employee and of course, was told that wasn't the right paper. I politely waited while they sorted things. I almost ordered lunch while I was waiting, but resisted. Eventually I was assisted in completing the right one online.
Well, the paperwork came today...
It's the wrong paperwork. Of course it is. I mean....
Surprisingly, I didn't swear. I think partly because my brain froze when I saw the document, but also I think part of me suspected it wouldn't be that simple so I wasn't completely surprised. I did video tape it though and it is kind of comical. I'm not sure how many ways I could've said "this isn't right" but it's a lot!
Round 3, here we go! Can we all just get it right this time? Pretty please.
This better be worth it...Sweden, I'm coming to you!
